Spindrift's friendly and homely atmosphere with eight comfortable and spacious en-suite rooms each with it's own veranda or balcony overlooking the garden, pool and koi fish pond makes it the perfect place to relax between your explorations of the Namib Desert coastline, including Sandwich Harbour and the Pelican Point Peninsula. Conveniently located for restaurants, bars and a short walk from the famous Walvis Bay lagoon, with its birdlife and many outdoor activities. Facilities include free wi-fi, swimming pool, separate braai area, honesty bar fridge, delicious dinners and off-road parking. Breakfast is included and dinner can be arranged in advance.

I want to be open and honest towards my fellow travelers but also not let wonderful couple down. Guesthouse has an old theme to it. Old wooden furniture fro the very early 90 awaits you in the room. I love old things and it makes it homey and warm. But some of the drawers handles are missing an doors doesn’t close anymore and so on. I got no complimentary shampoo or shower gel.

Not even an bar of soup or air freshener in the toilet. The garden is nice. Keep in mind that this is dessert country. But no maintenance is done pool is green braai area is dusty an dirty and dead leaves every where. At the breakfast table you are greeted very friendly service from your host and you feel at home with your farther or grandfather just chatting away. Lovely warm Namib people.

So please stay at Spindrift for the people. Not for luxury. We spent two nights at Spindrift. We were a bit unsure as we found some bad reviews but we decided to give it a go anyway. Well, don't trust the bad reviews cause this place is great!

We could pick our room at arrival and we appreciated the help of the owner, who also drove us early in the morning to one of the activities we decided to do. Spindrift is very quiet and nice, very close to the lagoon where you'll enjoy great sunsets and the view of hundreds of flamingoes.

It's also close to some of the best eating places in Walvis Bay. If you're looking for the super fancy place, then go to a 5 star hotel, but if you want a clean, creative space (yummy breakfast as well) close to the main attractions, this is the place. Not directly on the lagoon, but literally 2 minutes far (walking).
